Caledon, ON - Bolton resident Kevin Junor has been involved in the community for a number of years, and now he’s interested in the political side of things.

Junor has declared his candidacy for the Ward 5 area council seat on Caledon council in this fall’s municipal elections.

He said Caledon, and Bolton in particular, has a lot of good things going on, and he wants to use his 25 years experience working in government, along with his leadership, to help the Town move forward.

Junor is currently a program advisor the Ministry of Government Services. He is also a 30-year member of the Canadian Forces Reserves and has held a number of positions within the Canadian Forces, including that of Regimental Sergeant Major of the Toronto Scottish Regiment.

“I’m proud to be a resident of Bolton – the safest community in Canada and one of the most beautiful communities,” he declared. “Working with other municipal leaders and by engaging local residents and businesses, I am confident that we can address every challenge as we continue to ensure that Caledon reflects the best of Ontario in every way possible.”

“Kevin is a force multiplier in working with various levels of government in addressing community safety issues,” commented Brian Patterson, president and general manager for the Ontario Safety League.

Junor is the current chair of the Policing Advisory Council of Caledon (PACC) and has helped to build partnerships with Town council, Ontario Provincial Police and other community groups. Much of PACC’s work involves delivering seminars and awareness programs about community safety and restoration, along with hosting events that profile Caledon as a leader in community policing.

Junor was speaking confidently about his chances in the coming campaign, particularly when people see what he has to offer. “It’s about what I’ve got to bring to the table.”
